VietNamNet Bridge – Railway tracks pass through many streets in Hanoi. Local people still live, work and play along the tracks, ignoring fatal risks.

According to the Law on Railway, construction projects must be at least 15m from railway tracks. However, the law is frequently violated in Hanoi. Many houses on Tran Phu street are only 3m from the rail.

Local residents said that they realized the danger of living near the railway but land prices in Hanoi are soaring so they could not afford to find new homes.
