QUANG NGAI INDUSTRIES AREA

1.  DUNG QUAT INDUSTRIAL ZONE
Located in the North-east of the province, with the total area of 14,000 ha, Dungquat Industrial Zone is the first petrochemical industrial zone in Vietnam directly invested and managed by the Central Government. This is the pivotal economic area in the Central Vietnam, including the deep water seaport accessible for 200,000 DWT ships, the oil refinery with the capacity of 6.5 million tons per year, Vantuong city of 2,400 ha, and other petrochemical plants. Situated in such a place that is next to Dungquat seaport, Chulai airport and Trans-Asia Route, Dungquat owns sufficient essential features to form the largest economic complex in the Central Vietnam. Up to the time being, Dungquat Industrial Zone's phase I of technical infrastructure system has been accomplished and phase II is proposed to be achieved in 2005.

2.  PROVINCIAL INDUSTRIAL ZONES
In addition to Dungquat Industrial Zone, in Quangngai there are also two other provincially managed industrial zones of Quangphu and Tinhphong with total registered capital of 863 billion VND, Which holds 20 factories and the staff of approximately 5000 labourers. Over the past some years, these two industrial zones have been producing a variety of high quality and neatly packaged products many of which have been well consumed nationwide and some exported to foreign markets. Nowadays, the provincial authority has issued preferencial policies for investors in these industrial zones such as preferencial taxing policy on land use, corporation tax, company income tax, and other investment guaranteeing and supporting policies. Quangngai government has done much for investment in building the infrastructure for the sake of socio-economic development programmes and targets. For the past ten years, the total capital invested in the area of civil construction has mounted up to 6,500 billion VND.
The provincial traffic system has continually been improved and upgraded. During the dry season, means of transportation (assorted vehicles) can be acessible to 175 out of all 179 communes in the province. Apart from the land road system, the waterway network in Quangngai has also been developping gradually exploiting advantages of 5 estuaries and 2 seaports.
